Aeroflot swings to 94.6 bln rbl RAS net profit in Jan–Sep

MOSCOW, Oct 31 (PRIME) -- Russian national flagship carrier Aeroflot posted a 94.6 billion ruble net profit in January–September against a 58.4 billion ruble net profit in the same period of 2022, as calculated under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS), the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company attributed the loss to a so-called paper effect caused by implementation of the 25/2018 federal accounting standard that regulates accounting of renting and leasing contracts. Excluding the standard, the company’s net profit amounted to 16.019 billion rubles against a 32.512 billion ruble net loss in the same period of 2022 adjusted to the impact of the standard, the company said.

Revenue of the company gained 42.8% to 357.316 billion rubles in January–September. The amount of flights increased by 11.1%, with the amount of international flights jumping by 76.4%.

Spending on jet fuel rose to 23.744 billion rubles in the period, and spending on maintenance and technical servicing of aircraft reached 19.142 billion rubles, the company said.
